What is the first thing that comes to mind if you hear the word “temple”? Or how about “church”? I bet that the first image that comes to mind is a building. A place that people go to. But the reality of the matter is that we are the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in each of us.<\/p>\n
\n1 Corinthians 3:16-17 (WEBBE): 16<\/sup>Don\u2019t you know that you are a temple of God, and that God\u2019s Spirit lives in you? 17<\/sup>If anyone destroys God\u2019s temple, God will destroy him; for God\u2019s temple is holy, which you are.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
\n1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (WEBBE): 19<\/sup>Or don\u2019t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own,\u00a020<\/sup>for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God\u2019s.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
And together we are the body of Christ in this world, built into a strong structure like living stones.<\/p>\n
\n1 Corinthians 12:27 (WEBBE):27<\/sup>Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
\n1 Peter 2:5 (WEBBE): 5<\/sup>You also, as living stones, are built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
God is not far from us. He is not living in only in some buildings some of the time. He is with us and in us every single moment of every day. He is never too busy and our lives are never too insignificant for Him to notice. In fact, He invites us into a relationship with Him.<\/p>\n
