Take Action!

God’s children here on Earth are supposed to make a difference wherever they go. Jesus said that we are supposed to be the light, so that through our good works everybody around us see something of the Father and glorify Him!

Matthew 5:15-16 (WEBBE): ¹⁵Neither do you light a lamp, and put it under a measuring basket, but on a stand; and it shines to all who are in the house. ¹⁶Even so, let your light shine before men; that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

Paul very much embodied the principle of demonstrating God’s power, instead of just trying to use words to convey the extent of God’s love.

1 Corinthians 2:4-5 (WEBBE): ⁴My speech and my preaching were not in persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, ⁵that your faith wouldn’t stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

Just like Paul, we should be doing good works with the help of the Holy Spirit. Not because we are trying to be saved through works, which is not humanly possible anyway. But because, now that we are already saved by grace and we walk in close relationship with God, we are filled so full with His love that it simply overflows onto the people around us. Because we want to show people what God is really like!

Ephesians 2:10 (WEBBE): ¹⁰For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them.

James 1:22 (WEBBE): ²²But be doers of the word, and not only hearers, deluding your own selves.

James 2:26 (WEBBE): ²⁶For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, even so faith apart from works is dead.

Imagine what the world would be like if every Christian performed just one random act of kindness to somebody else today! If that is the kind of world that you want to live in, what are you waiting for?
