Speak TO the Mountain
Mark 11:22-23 (WEBBE): 22Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God. 23For most certainly I tell you, whoever may tell this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and doesn’t doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is happening; he shall have whatever he says.
Jesus taught that we should speak in faith TO our mountains, and tell them what to do. On another occasion, He demonstrated how to speak to a storm.
Mark 4:39 (WEBBE): 39He awoke, and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” The wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
Remember, the same Spirit of God that was in Jesus is also in us today. Jesus should be our role model in all things.
Of course, this is quite the opposite of how the carnal mind reacts. When something terrifying or sad is going on, the first thing us humans usually do is tell as many other people as possible so that they too will be afraid. Just look at the kinds of stories that appear almost all of the time on the news.
My challenge to you for this year is to choose to speak TO the mountain and not ABOUT it!
