God’s Character

God is love – that is His character. The whole Bible is about how God still loves us just as much despite all the many times that we have turned away from Him. His love is perfect and truly unconditional.

1 John 4:16 (WEBBE): ¹⁶We know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and he who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him.

1 John 4:18 (WEBBE): ¹⁸There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment. He who fears is not made perfect in love.

Anything that is motivated by fear is not from God, because it is contrary to His nature which is love.

1 John 1:5 (WEBBE): ⁵This is the message which we have heard from him and announce to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
